About the Role

This position will provide expertise in knowledge and IP transfer and commercialisation. You will assist, support and advise the business, ensuring maximum returns to stakeholders and supporting in the identification, protection, and translation of ideas, research and technologies developed by MLA’s Research & Development (R&D) and Marketing investments.

Our ideal Knowledge Transfer Manager has:

• Extensive experience in Research and Development (R&D) knowledge & IP transfer and business development (could be private sector, R&D organisation, university, public sector)
• An innovative mindset, with the ability to find and implement simple solutions for sometimes complex arrangements
• Experience in the evaluation of investment and the knowledge transfer outcomes
• Strong commercial negotiation skills, including the ability to grow relationships with partnering organisations, whilst negotiating commercial provisions.
• A broad understanding and experience in strategically managing intellectual property, particularly patents and trademarks.
• Experience in creation and implementation of commercialisation and adoption strategies
• Qualification in business/commerce, agtech, law, IP and/or relevant commercial experience.
• Desirable:  Experience or interest in the Australian agricultural industry, agricultural science qualifications, or understanding the livestock industry.
