About the Role
As our Project Manager, the successful applicant will develop and oversee projects with a range of research partners to progress MLA’s investments in sustainable feedbase resources (i.e. native and improved pastures, soil, and other aspects of the natural environment).
Possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ideal candidate will also have an affinity with red meat producers and a desire to achieve impactful investments that improve their productivity and sustainability. The successful applicant will travel nationally to meet with red meat producers and their advisors, and members of the research community to help develop solutions to some of the biggest challenges facing Australian agriculture.
The successful applicant must have postgraduate qualifications and 5+ years experience in one or more relevant science disciplines (e.g. agronomy, soil science, plant science, biometrics, agricultural systems).
The position is based in Sydney, Armidale or Brisbane.
Our ideal Project Manager will be required to:
- Develop and manage RD&A projects contracted to R&D providers, in alignment with MLA processes and governance procedures.
- Assist with identification of RD&A opportunities in conjunction with key stakeholders (producers, advisors).
- Assist with development of the value proposition and business cases for new investments.
- Oversee evaluation activities, within and after research projects to support MLA’s impact evaluation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of National collaborative partnerships to deliver against the National RD&E strategies and MLA Strategic plan areas, in order to maximise synergies and avoid duplication of RD&A efforts
