Job Description

About the Role

As an HR Officer at Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA), you will be instrumental in the successful delivery of our HR initiatives and projects. You will play a critical role in supporting our cyclical HR activities, ensuring that processes run smoothly and efficiently. Your passion for people, data, and projects will be key to your success in this role. You will be the go-to person for HR queries, providing guidance and support to our employees and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

No one day will be the same, but some of the tasks that you can expect to keep you busy are –

  • HR Administration including drafting contracts, contract variations, job adverts, managing the onboarding and terminations in the system;
  • Driving the annual remuneration review process and administering the relevant documents required to enable this;
  • Management of multiple HR Inboxes and act as the first point of contact for all HR inquiries;
  • Management of our learning and development, recruitment, and performance management, culture and engagement systems throughout the year;
  • Prepare the annual WGEA compliance reporting and data collection process with support from manager;
  • Facilitation and organisation of the quarterly Company Induction;
  • Maintain and update information on MLA’s intranet and HR systems including use of Sharepoint;
  • Management of invoicing and HR expenses through SAP.

Our ideal HR Officer has:

  • Experience working in an administrative HR role coordinating initiatives and programs;
  • A future focused attitude and desire to enhance our HR processes;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of supporting end to end lifecycle tasks, including from recruitment all the way to offboarding;
  • Solid experience managing a variety of reporting requirements in previous organisations, including HR metrics;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office experience, specifically Excel, Powerpoint & Word;
  • A solutions mindset and a focus on continuous improvement; and
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build rapport.
