About the Role

This role drives market development for Australian beef, lamb and goatmeat in Canada, working with exporters and value chain partners to grow demand and value. It manages marketing projects, budgets and service providers, translates market insights into action, evaluates performance, and works collaboratively while meeting MLA’s policy and governance requirements.

Our ideal Market Development Manager has:

• Tertiary qualifications relating to Marketing, Sales, Business Management/Administration, Hospitality, or Culinary Arts or red meat production (Veterinary Science, Rural Science, Agricultural Economics, Animal Husbandry, or a similar agriculture-focused qualification),

• Sales or business development experience in business-to-business roles
• Marketing strategy, planning, and execution in the food and/or beverage industry in North America, and/or a thorough understanding of the Australian meat and livestock industry – supply capability, key suppliers, Australian product categories and attributes, organizational structure, etc.  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills. 
• Strong project management skills. 
• High level of experience using Microsoft Suite and software products.
